Ashantigold and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been asked by the Sports Ministry to furnish them with their budget for the CAF inter club competitions.

The two clubs will represent Ghana at next year's inter club competitions with Kotoko playing in the CAF Champions League while Ashantigold will compete in the CAF Confederations Cup following the cancellation of the 2019/2020 league season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Government will support the two clubs with an amount of $350,000 but on condition that they reach the group stage of their various competitions.

After several meetings between the two sides that government has requested the clubs to provide them with a budget of participating in the competition.

It remains unclear whether the government will still provide additional funds with the request of their budgets.

Such a move will be a huge sigh of relief for the two clubs as playing in African inter club competitions is financially draining more especially this time that due to the coronavirus restrictions clubs can only accommodate 25% of the stadium's capacity.
