Kumasi Asante Kotoko have pulled the plugs on any potential deal for 28 year old Medeama midfielder Justice Blay.

The porcupine warriors were interested in acquiring the central midfielder on a permanent basis but have now backed out of the decision after failing to agree on a fee with the player's parent club.

Last season the player was on loan at Asante Kotoko were he impressed greatly and has never hidden his willingness to continue with the Kumasi based side.

Kotoko have been forced to end their pursuit due to unrealistic demands being made by Medeama Sporting Club for the 28 year old player.

Per kickgh.com, Kotoko's final offer to the mauves and yellow was $20,000 which was well below Medeama's asking price of $50,000.

Kotoko deem those figures for a local player who is entering the twilight of his career as not economically prudent and have therefore ended the chase for the player.

The capture of Emmanuel Keyekeh from Karela United also a central midfielder for a much lower fee has lessened the blow of missing out on Justice Blay.

Blay was part of the Medeama players that underwent medical screening at the start of the week meaning he is staying at the Tarkwa based club.

He made 13 league appearances for Kotoko in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season that was truncated scoring two goals.
