Former national team goalkeeper Abukari Damba says that Asante Kotoko deciding to have three quality goalkeepers at the club is a sign of intent.

He says the move means the club value the goalkeeping department that is why they are stocking it with the best around.

On Tuesday, Kumasi Asante Kotoko announced the signing of former Azam FC goalkeeper Razak Abalora on a three year deal.

Already the club have on their books Kwame Baah, Felix Annan and youngster Danlad Ibrahim and adding Abalora to the list of goalkeepers.

"Asante Kotoko assembling the best goalkeepers in the country is an indication that they are a serious club and it means they have laid much emphasis on the goalkeeping department clearly explaining that the department is an integral and important department so far as winning games are concerned." he told Kumasi FM.

"I will also advice that,they need to have a comprehensive program in place to keep them busy and competitive,by so doing,they will all be on their guard."

He says the goalkeeper grabbing move by Kotoko reminds him of what happened at the Black Stars in their time.

"This move by Asante Kotoko reminds me of our days at the Black Stars.Eddie Ansah,Salifu Ansah,Mohammed Odoom,Nana Bayin and myself were all around just to increase competition," he added.
