Kumasi Asante Kotoko have stopped the unpopular decision by the club and their sponsors Hisense to award players of opposing clubs GHC5,000 for scoring against them.

This practise did not go down well with supporters of the club at all as after opposing players scored Kotoko there were handed an added incentive by the club's sponsor Hisense.

To most fans it was more like adding salt to injury and so the bizarre arrangement has been stopped by the club and its sponsors from next season.

"That GHc5,000 we have now turned it to GHc9,000 and with that anytime Kotoko do not lose a match Ghc4,000 comes to the team and each time Kotoko wins a match Ghc4,000 goes to the team and Ghc4,000 goes to the Old Players Association while Ghc1,000 will be used to give five fans Ghc200 product each through a raffle with their match day tickets."

"That practise of giving opposing players Ghc5,000 has been scrapped from henceforth"

Players in the just ended league like Michael Yeboah of Great Olympics, Samuel Bioh of Aduana Stars, Elmina Shark's Alhaji Mustapha all smiled to the bank with Ghc5,000 for scoring against Kotoko.

Kotoko fans were irked by Hearts of Oak's Daniel Afriyie Barnieh who sccored the winner when they met in Accra was also handed Ghc5,000 in a game that decided the league title.
