The campaign team of Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has firmly denied reports circulating on social media suggesting that he has been disqualified from the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
The rumours claim that Mr. Agyepong failed to pay the mandatory GHC4 million development fee, a key requirement for aspirants, as reportedly cited in a vetting committee report submitted to the National Council and National Executive Committee on Tuesday.
However, the party has yet to issue any official communication confirming his disqualification.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Agyepong campaign described the allegations as "false, unfounded, and misleading," and called on party members and the public to disregard them entirely.
"Ing. Agyepong successfully went through the Presidential Elections Committee’s vetting process, as confirmed by the official invitation from the NPP Headquarters to participate in the balloting scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025, at the party headquarters, Asylum Down."
The team stated that Mr. Agyepong remains a qualified, loyal, and dedicated aspirant, committed to upholding the democratic values of the NPP and contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s development.
"We urge the public to disregard such false claims, which are clear attempts to mislead and divert attention from the unity, vision, and focus of our campaign," the statement read.
The campaign further reiterated its commitment to promoting integrity, service, and renewal—both within the party and across the nation.
