Lagos state, Nigeria’s commercial capital has been ranked the third worst city to live in according to the 2018 Global Liveability Index.

The South-West coastal state was ranked 138 out of 140 cities chosen for the survey, ranking only above Damascus in Syria and Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

The survey was based on a range of factors including political and social stability, crime, education and access to healthcare. The Lagos state government puts its population at 17.5 million, a figure that has been disputed by the Federal government.

The ten most liveable cities according to the survey are –
