Medeama SC won their match day 20 game against Legon Cities at the Akoon Park but that victory was dented by a career threatening injury to star midfielder Justice Blay.

The home side won the game by 2-1 but it was a hard fought victory for the host as it had to take a thunderbolt of a shot from Kwasi Donsu who reminded everyone that he is still around.

Legon Cities despite all their purchases are not lying pretty on the league log and fought very hard for the points but they lost out.

The home side missed star striker Ahmed Toure and Tetteh Nortey as they sought a 7th consecutive home win at the Akoon Park.

Medeama started the game very well and it did not take long before Prince Opoku Agyemang opened the scores in the 23rd minute.

During five minutes of time added a vicious and over zealous tackle from Joseph Agyei resulted in Justice Blay suffering a season ending ankle injury.

The Legon Cities defender was shown a straight red card as the Medeama midfielder was writhing in pain on the turf.

Medics attended to him before he was taken to hospital in an ambulance for further treatment.

With ten minutes to end the game the away side who were down to ten men profited from a calamitous goalkeeping to pull parity through Issaka Mohammed.

Late into the game Kwasi Donsu hit a piledriver of a shot to flew into the net to give the home side all three points in the game.

The win moves Medeama to third on the league log as they trail league leaders Kotoko by just two points.
