Serie A side Lazio have joined the race to sign Swansea star Andre Ayew, Ghanaguardian.com can reveal.

The Ghana captain is back at Swansea this season after spending last term on loan at Fenerbahce in the wake of the Welsh club’s relegation from the Premier League.

Lazio have been keeping tabs on Ayew’s situation as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the Italian transfer window shuts next week.

The Swans can no longer afford Ayew - and boss Steve Cooper has made it clear he is not part of his long term plans.

The 29 year old is in his second spell at the Liberty Stadium, having rejoined them from West Ham in January 2018 in a deal worth up to £20m.
