Popular reggae musician and radio show host, Abubakar Ahmed, a.k.a Blakk Rasta says he feels vindicated after Ghanaians took his marijuana comment out of contest.

The Zylofon FM presenter, some 13 years ago had stated that marijuana, locally referred to as weed be legalized so it could generate income for the nation; and be used for other purposes.

This according to him, was taken out contest because he added that some Members of Parliament (MPs) used the drug.

But several other people in recent times have added calls for the legalization of the substance. The likes of Dr Akrasi Sarpong, Dr Akwasi Osei and the late UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan called for a second approach of the weed.

A fort night ago, two astute Ghanaian journalists - Editor of the Insight newspapper Kwesi Pratt and host of Peace FM morning show, Kwame Sefa Kayi on a flagship program also suggested to the Government to consider legalizing the drug for recreational, research, medicinal and commercial purposes.

However Blakk Rasta in an interview with Akwesi Aboagye on Entertainment Review on Peace FM Saturday, said he never sort for the abuse and smoking of the substance, but for the benefit of the nation indicating, he does not smoke weed.

"When I said 13 years ago that the substance be legalized it ended me in parliament. I never called for the abuse or smoking of it. I don't smoke weed. I've not even taken alcohol before, I don't know how they taste", he affirmed.

He insisted the weed is a cash crop and therefore the country must take the advantage by growing in larger quantities and export for commercial gains.
