Legendary musician Jewel Ackah dies aged 73

Legendary Ghanaian musician Jewel Ackah, a popular figure in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has died aged 73.
The stockey statured Ackah who composed the NDC's anthem died at his Tema Community 11 home on Friday evening, family says.
He had been battling stroke for 10 years, forcing him to come out and lament his neglect by the NDC.
He had called on the members of the party to come to his aid, a statement which prompted some musicians to make some donations to him.
He had been visiting the 37 hospital for sometime and according to a tv3 report,he was moved from the hospital last two weeks because he could not talk and his condition was not getting any better.
Ackah started his career as a professional footballer, but went on to use his powerful, soul-tinged vocals with the cover-version band the Pick Ups in 1965
