Liberty Professionals skipper Ernest Papa Arko is the latest player to throw his weight behind George Afriyie's candidature ahead of the upcoming Ghana Football Association Presidential election.

The veteran Ghana premier league campaigner joins a long list of former and current professionals such as Ishmael Yartey and Asante Kotoko legend Aziz Ansah, and Awudu Issaka who have all publicly showed their support for the former GFA vice president.

One hundred and twenty delegates of the Ghana Football Association go to the polls on Friday October 25 in Accra and ahead of the elections, Papa Arko believes Afriyie is the right candidate to be voted for.

“Delegates shouldn’t vote based on favoritism, they need to elect someone who is capable to do the job,” Papa Arko told Kumasi based OTEC FM in an interview.

“They should consider George Afriyie because he has the potentials and was willing to do the job even when he was vice to Nyantakyi,” he added.

Ernest Papa Arko's rise to startdom begun at Ghana premier league side Liberty Professionals, for which George Afriyie is the current Chief Executive officer.

The veteran attacker returned to the at the beginning of the 2016/17 season after a hugely successful career most of which was in the Egyptian Premier League.
