Former Newcastle United player Lomana Lualua has predicted that Ghana and West Ham player will return stronger for his club after an thigh injury kept him out of action until recently.

Speaking to BBC Sports, the Congolese footballer insisted that Andre Ayew will come back stronger to make an impact for the Hammers after sustaining an injury against Chelsea in a premier league at Stamford Bridge on the opening week of the season.

“It's a shame he's been injured,” LuaLua, who is 35 years of age, told BBC Sport (18:43) about Ayew. “He’ll come back stronger and show what a good player he is.” he emphasised.

The 26 year old assistant Ghana captain joined the Hammers for a club record fee of 20 million pounds from Swansea this season but has not been able to make an impact worth his price tag due to injury.

The versatile forward who can play as a winger and a forward recently returned for West Ham against Chelsea in the English Premier League.

He also featured fully for Ghana against Egypt in a World Cup qualifier match at Alexandria where he captained the Ghanaians to a disappointing 2:o loss.

West Ham placed immense trust and held high hopes for the season after landing the former Marseille star and would look forward to reaping from him upon his return to full fitness.

The 26-year-old has created one chance in three Premier League matches for West Ham so far this season.
