’m guilty of being in my comfort zone – E.L.
15th August 2024
Ghanaian rapper E.L has spoken about his perceived laid-back attitude towards his music career
In an interview on Daybreak Hitz, the rapper admitted being complacent and relaxed in his ‘comfort zone’.
While contributing to a conversation about Ghana’s creative industry, E.L. said “We need to be more angry in this country about things that we deserve, we need to voice out more to the powers that be to keep them on their toes“.
However, E.L. emphasised, “I think if we want anything in this country to work, we need to be more proactive, we need to be more passionate about the things that we want”.
He specifically addressed the issue of royalty collection at GHAMRO, suggesting structures to monitor plays on digital platforms to devoid complaints from artists.
“For us to make our voices heard we need to start coming together, unifying and not being as standoffish as we can get,” he said.
E.L. is currently promoting his latest EP, BAR 7. The project features Ara the Jay, Samini, Lyrical Joe, Jean Feier, Kev the Topic, Nana Grenade, Kobi Onyame and Tradey.
