Former President John Dramani Mahama has joined Former President Jerry John Rawlings to mark the 36th anniversary of the 31st December 1981 revolution.

The gathering lead by Former President Jerry John Rawlings attracted hundreds of supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to observe the anniversary held in Ho.

Mr Mahama, whose administration was severely criticised by the former revolution leader joined in the observation of the anniversary at the Volta regional capital.

Notable among  party executives who graced the occasion include: Kofi Portuphy, Koku Anyodoho, Anita De Soso and the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The revolution brought the Military Junta, the Provisional National Defence Council(PNDC) led by then Ft. Lt. J.J Rawlings into power in 1981.

There will be an annual ritual of wreath laying and lighting of the perpetual flame at the ceremony.

This year's anniversary is on the theme: Uniting around the principle of Probity, Accountability and Social Justice.
