FC Porto striker Abdul Majeed Waris and NAC Breda winger Thomas Agyepong have been left out of Ghana’s squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Japan and Iceland.

According to reports reaching Ghanaguardian.com, Head Coach of the Black Stars James Kwesi Appiah has decided to drop Waris due to lack of regular first team action since moving to the Portuguese giants.

The 26 year old’s struggle to find his feet at the Estádio do Dragáo since joining the club on loan from Lorient has reportedly cost him his place in the national team.

Meanwhile Thomas Agyepong didn’t make the cut because he is yet to recover fully from a troublesome hamstring injury that has kept him out for a while.

Ghana will first take on Japan on Friday May 30th in Yokohama before playing Iceland on 7th June as both countries wrap up their reparations for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
