Man, 45, arrested for allegedly slitting mum's throat

The suspect who stabbed his own mother and slit her throat has been arrested by the Asamankese police.
Samuel Obeng Quacoo, 45, allegedly murdered her mother, Comfort Adjoa Ayede in cold blood, while she was asleep.
The sad incident happened 1:30am Monday dawn at Opeinimso, a farming community near Asamankese, the Municipal capital of Lower West Akim in the Eastern Region.
According to the Police, the sister of the suspect Sarlomey Frimpong, 42, reported to the Asamankese Police station after the incident Monday morning.
She said, the victim Comfort Adwoa Ayede, 65, was rushed to Asamankese Government Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect after committing the crime went into hiding, but the police grabbed him in one of the nearby villages. He is currently in the custody assisting with investigations.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Asamankese Government Hospital's morgue pending autopsy.
