It looks more and more likely that Yaya Toure has kicked his last ball for Manchester City after the midfielder was omitted from the club’s Champions League squad – and a lot of fans are far from happy.

The Ivory Coast international, now 33, is known to have a difficult relationship with current City boss Pep Guardiola, who sold Toure to City when he was in charge of Barcelona.

When Guardiola arrived at City in the summer, a parting of the ways for Toure seemed likely, despite his legendary status amongst fans of the Sky Blues for his part in their recent Premier League success.
But the transfer window slammed shut on Wednesday night and Toure remained at the Etihad after failing to find a club.

Toure surprisingly started the club’s Champions League qualifier at 1-0 win home to Steaua Bucharest last week, but hasn’t featured in the Premier League as yet – and today’s European squad announcement puts him even further out of the picture.

To put it into context, Fabian Delph is in the squad ahead of Toure – leaving some supporters scratching their heads:
What do you think? Will Yaya ever play for City again? And is he being treated harshly?
