Marfo scores but Frankfurt end Nordsjaelland’s European dream

Princess Marfo was on target for FC Nordsjælland Women, but it was not enough to prevent their exit from the UEFA Women's Europa League at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt Women.
The Ghana international forward found the net in Nordsjaelland’s 3-2 home defeat in the quarter-final second leg, offering a moment of hope for the Danish side in an otherwise uphill contest.
Frankfurt had already laid the foundation for progression with a commanding 4-0 victory in the first leg in Germany. Despite a spirited performance in the return fixture, Nordsjaelland were unable to overturn the deficit, with the German side advancing 7-2 on aggregate.
Marfo’s goal was a bright spark on a challenging evening. The Black Queens attacker showed sharp movement inside the area to capitalise on her opportunity, underlining her growing influence in European competition.
For Frankfurt, the result confirmed their status as strong contenders in the tournament, while for Nordsjaelland it marked the end of a campaign that had promised much.
Although elimination will sting, Marfo’s contribution once again highlighted the steady presence of Ghanaian talent on the European stage, even in defeat.
