The Ghana police service has been hit by a massive shakeup as 18 top police officers have been reshuffled including the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah.

COP Yeboah has been named the new Director-General, Technical, of the Ghana Police Service by the Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu.

He has been replaced with Western Regional Police Commander DCOP Kwesi Mensah Duku.

Others who have also been reassigned are DCOP Vincent Dedjoe, who has been moved from the Upper East Regional Command to head the Western Regional Command; DCOP Patrick Adusei Sarpong has been moved as the Northern Regional Commander to become Head of Legal at the National Police Headquarters.

The others are DCOP Timothy Yosa Bonga, former Director at Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS), who is now the Northern Regional Commander.

DCOP Osei Kweku Ampofo Duku will now head the Upper East Regional Command, and DCOP Edward Tabiri, from Director-General, Legal Services, will now be the Director-General Private Security Services.
