Top scorer for Ghana Premier  League side AshantiGold SC,  Yaw Annor says that the match fixing tag on his team is  really affecting them.

The winger says that if even his team does well people do not give them the credit they deserve but assume that they got  the results through match  fixing.

Ashgold  were fingered  in match  fixing allegation  on the last day of  the 2020/2021  season  when they defeated then  relegated Inter Allies 7-0.

After the match, Inter Allies defender Hashmin Musah alleged that before the game they heard that the score line will be 5-0 against his side.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Precise  FM, the winger says that it is terrible the way that they are accused of engaging in betting in every game.

"The match fixing tag on Ashantigold is really painful and affecting us even on the days that we perform very well, people still use that against us."

"I want to make it clear to everyone that these rumours of us involving in match fixing are not true and I cannot fathom why that subject resurfaces anytime we win a game. People should cease using that against us and put some respect on our name."

Yaw Annor has 16  goals for Ashgold two behind top scorer Frank Mbella after scoring four goals last weekend.
