Black Stars B coached by Maxwell Konadu handed Togo a painful 2-1 defeat at the Stadé de Kegué in Lome on Sunday in an international friendly to continue their unbeaten run in a series of friendlies.

A goal in each half from WAFA duo Richmond Lamptey and Daniel Lomotey gave Ghana the win despite Issifou Bourhana pulling one back in what was a very stern test for the Stars who continue their preparation ahead of the CHAN qualifiers on August 7 against Burkina Faso.

Maxwell Konadu seemed happy to come  away with victory after a tough match where his side had to dig deep and put up a great performance.

"Like you rightly said, we've played a lot of games without a defeat. We were expecting a lot of things from the game today and we had what we wanted.

"We expected a tough game and that is what Togo gave us. Especially in the second half, they were stronger, gave us a lot of pressure, pinned us to our side and that tested our resilience," Maxwell noted during the post-match presser.

"They had their goal from that moment and the way we responded was fantastic. The boys showed a lot of character and fought back. And for me, that is the most important thing because that is what I expected," he added.
