Medeama cruise to victory over Young Apostles in dominant display
25th November 2024
Medeama SC continued their impressive form with a commanding 2-0 win against Young Apostles in their first-ever top-flight encounter at the Wenchi Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The victory, marking their second consecutive triumph, propelled Medeama into the top four, reigniting their ambitions for the league title.
Derrick Fordjour put Medeama ahead in the 15th minute with a clinical finish, bringing his season goal tally to three.
The visitors controlled the tempo throughout the match, exploiting Young Apostles’ defensive lapses and maintaining relentless pressure.
Prince Owusu doubled the advantage in the 56th minute, cementing the win and securing a vital three points for Medeama.
Young Apostles, still adjusting to life in the Premier League, struggled to respond and recorded their fifth loss in 12 games.
With just one win in their last five outings, their inaugural season continues to pose challenges.
Despite their usually strong home performances, Young Apostles couldn’t withstand Medeama’s dominance and remain 12th in the standings.
Medeama, riding high on their momentum, will next take on Vision FC after the general elections, while Young Apostles will seek redemption in their clash against Basake Holy Stars.
