Medeama are set to recall midfield general Malik Akowuah following a deadlock in negotiation with Hearts of Oak, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Things have come to a complete standstill regarding negotiations between the two clubs over the versatile midfielder.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands talks between both parties are on the verge of breaking down and the initial principal agreement may soon disappear as fast as it came.

Hearts are dragging its feet in agreeing to the terms tabled by Medeama with the spanner in the works leaving the Yellow and Mauves decidedly unhappy.

Widespread media reports had consistently claimed a deal has been reached between the two parties, but GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm it's far from being finalized.

The latest stand-off threatens the negotiation with GHANAsoccernet.com sources revealing the midfielder could be recalled to Tarkwa.

Hearts illegally signed Malik Akowuah on a three-year deal in a bid to ward off other suitors.

Of what was talked about initially, there have been some substantial changes, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

Akowuah is one of the most influential players at the club, helping the Tarkwa-based side to reach the group stage of the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.

He is contracted to the Medeama until 2018 and will not be short of offers if he returns to Medeama.

The former Ashantigold midfielder is currently on extended holidays in his native Kumasi.
