Organizers of Miss Galaxy Ghana (MGG), Eduenter Group Ghana (eGG), will on this Saturday, 16th November 2019, hold a Skill Training and Capacity Building Workshop for its delegates.

The training which is aimed at inculcating entrepreneurial and patriotic spirit into the contestants of Ghana’s Environmental and Sanitation Beauty Pageant is in collaboration with the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

The event comes off at the Knutsford University College in East Legon, Accra.

A Press Statement released by eGG Communication Directorate mentioned Dr. Nana Oppong, President Distinguished Scholars of Africa; DR. Kuku Biney, CEO, Media 7 Group; Dr. Nanayaa Owusu Prempeh, Chairman-CEO, Tin-ifa Group; Dr. Akosuah Sumney (Mrs.), CEO, Mission Africa TV as seasoned facilitators of the workshop.

The event would be chaired by Dr. Kodjoe Sumney, Founder – President, Mission Africa Inc. with Mr. John Kwamena Essel, Pro-Chancellor of Knutsford University as the Special Guest of Honour. The host is Nanayaw Kwakye-Boadu, Founder-CEO, EduEnter Group Ghana & CHANNEL-i.

Some areas to be covered at this pacesetting, evergreen and innovative beauty pageant workshop are SWOT Analysis, Photography, Make-up, Women Empowerment, Public Speaking, Dispute Resolution, Persuasive Skills, Citizen Journalism, Beads Making, Trash Recycling among others.

The release further stated that, there will be a crusade to marshal one million people on the streets of Accra in a walk dubbed “1 MILLION WALK FOR A CLEAN GHANA”.

This mammoth Sanitation Awareness Walk on December 7, 2019, will arguably be the 'Biggest Sanitation Awareness Walk in Ghana'.

“The Walk will predominantly engage young people especially in this revolutionary initiative intended to sensitize and remind the younger ones especially and the citizenry at large on the need to uphold proper sanitation always and seize the opportunity to provide simple but futuristic solutions to address our waste menace as a Nation, which can be monetized” the statement noted.

The Press Statement indicated that, the “Walk will draw large numbers, to make the most resounding commitment on the younger generation's resolve to help achieve a National dream of a Clean Ghana. Therefore, walking with us signifies one making a firm commitment to consciously endeavour to play his / her part and encourage friends and family to do same, all in a bid to help attain the vision of a Clean Ghana by Year 2020, as promised by our President, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo”

“SKILLS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP WORKSHOP” AND “1 MILLION WALK FOR A CLEAN GHANA”

The 2019 Delegates of the adorable Environmental and Sanitation beauty pageant Miss Galaxy Ghana (MGG), under the auspices of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture is organizing arguably the 'Biggest Sanitation Awareness Walk in Ghana'.

“1 MILLION WALK FOR A CLEAN GHANA” is expected to have participation of students from various schools, members of various health and sanitation advocacy groups, churches, mosques and workers from related corporate institutions will be specifically invited to be part of this Walk as well as the general populace.

During the walk, placards, banners and other informative materials will be displayed reminding and sensitizing the general public on the importance and the need for a Clean Ghana. Also, participants will undertake some picking and sweeping exercise on the streets, with dustbins and rubbish collection vehicles tagging along, all in a bid to drum home the way to go as a People and Nation.

Also, messages carried on Electronic / Print / Social Media before or during the Walk shall highlight on offering solutions or giving advice on our Sanitation challenges as a Nation. Therefore, the Walk wouldn't be used to recount problems or what current and successive Governments haven't done - that will only be for political expediency. Instead, the Walk will offer Solutions and create more change agents for the Nation, through education and advocacy for empowerment.

Start Point – Accra Mall, through to Agiringanor
End Point – Grand Casamora Hotel

On arrival, corporate personalities, Government officials, Celebrities, Environmental Sanitation Ambassadors and Sponsors will address the young ones and the general public after which there will be aerobic session, health screening, and fun games alongside “Beauty for a Clean Ghana Exhibition”.

This “1 MILLION WALK FOR A CLEAN GHANA” project will be regionalized thus reaching and getting to different parts of the country to participate hence sensitizing and impacting countless people in their communities towards positive behavioural change.
