Elfsborg midfielder Michael Baidoo has expressed his delight after making his debut for the Ghana national team during this month's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The 25-year-old featured in both legs against Sudan, coming off the bench in Ghana’s 0-0 draw and also in the return fixture in Libya.

Reflecting on his debut, Baidoo described the moment as a dream come true, made even more special by the presence of his family and friends.

"It was a special feeling," Baidoo said. "I was really excited to get a call-up, and it was an honour to represent my country.

It was a childhood dream to be part of the national team, so when I was called to come on, I was really excited. My family was there, and all my friends were there to support me."

Baidoo was a late addition to the squad, stepping in for Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, who missed out due to illness.

The call-up comes after an outstanding season for Baidoo, where he scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 35 games across all competitions for Elfsborg.
