Miss Universe Ghana 2018 to benefit from media, leadership training

The organisers of this year’s Miss Universe Ghana pageant, MALTZ Promotions, have underscored the importance of the media in the socio-economic development of women.

They have, thus, included hands-on media training in the prize package for the 2018 contest.

The top five winners will benefit from a six-month internship programme with the Multimedia Group to learn at first-hand the operations of the company, as well as the elements of good media practice.

Leadership

In a statement to the Daily Graphic stated that the top three will also be taken through a leadership programme with the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), which is a signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders.

In addition to the above incentives, the ultimate winner will receive a brand new car, one-year contract with the Lab Modeling Agency in Milan, Italy; one-year contract as the Face of ‘So aesthetic’, one-year supply of GTP (Woodin) Fabrics, makeup products for one year, GH¢10,000 worth of Shoes from Shoe Zone and one- year hair services and spa treatments by First Choice Beauty Salon. Miss Universe Ghana 2018 also gets the exclusive ticket to represent Ghana at this year’s international pageant to be held in Bangkok, Thailand in December.

Besides the training programmes, the first and second runners-up will each receive six months supply of GTP (Woodin) fabrics plus ‘So Aesthetics’ makeup products. Grand finale

Meanwhile, all is set for the grand finale of Miss Universe 2018 which comes off at the Labadi Beach Hotel tomorrow, September 15. It will be live on Joy Prime TV.

Ten beautiful ladies who have been groomed over the past few weeks will be representing the 10 regions of Ghana and will be expected to display a high level of intelligence and eloquence. They will also be required to exhibit their natural talents among other things that will separate the ultimate winner from the other contestants.

Talented young artiste King Promise is on the bill and has promised patrons nothing but a spirited performance while captivating singer, Adina Thembi pledges to add more sugar to the potpourri of hit songs lined up to spice up the night.

Contestants

Michealina Mary Stampoulous Dankwa, 20, will represent the Ashanti Region, while Akpene Diata Hoggar will represent the Brong Ahafo Region, with Pascalina Nuamah Yeboah, 24, representing the Central Region.

The others are: Daisy Obeng Nkansah, 24, Eastern Region; Gifty Nyamekye Quansah, Greater Accra Region; Anita Sampana, 25, Northern Region;  Naa Yemotiokor Odoi, 23, Upper East Region and Silvia Naa Morkor Commodore, Upper West Region. The others are Regina Afiba Dadzie, 21, Volta Region and  Vanesa Tekor Akuetteh, Western Region.
