Mohammed Fuseini scores in Union St. Gilloise's triumph over Kortrijk

Ghanaian forward Mohammed Fuseini played a pivotal role in Union St. Gilloise's emphatic 3-0 victory against Kortrijk in their Belgian First Division A Round 9 clash at Stade Joseph Marien.

Fuseini opened the scoring in the 18th minute, finishing off a sharp pass from Mounaim El Idrissy to put Union in the lead.

The home side dominated possession throughout the match, putting Kortrijk under constant pressure.

Their advantage grew in the second half when Kortrijk’s Joao Silva scored an own goal in the 51st minute, doubling Union’s lead.

Despite some attempts by Kortrijk to claw their way back into the game, Union’s defense remained solid.

Franjo Ivanovic sealed the result in the 76th minute with a well-placed finish, securing the three points for Union.

Fuseini, who was a standout performer throughout, was substituted to a warm ovation in the 85th minute.

This win marked Union St. Gilloise's ninth victory in ten encounters with Kortrijk, bolstering their league standing.

They now turn their attention to their upcoming Europa League clash against Bodø/Glimt on October 3rd.
