Ghanaian international Mohammed Salisu delivered a standout performance on Wednesday night, scoring a crucial goal to help AS Monaco earn a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Dinamo Zagreb in a thrilling UEFA Champions League match.

Salisu was named in the starting lineup for Monaco, and despite challenging weather conditions marked by heavy rain, he showcased remarkable resilience throughout the contest against the Croatian giants.

Dinamo Zagreb took control late in the first half, breaking the deadlock in the 44th minute with a goal from Petar Sucic, who was assisted by Martin Baturina.

The adverse weather made play difficult for both sides, but Dinamo Zagreb's efforts paid off as they entered halftime with a 1-0 lead.

After the break, Monaco emerged with renewed vigor, pressing high in search of an equalizer. However, Dinamo Zagreb doubled their advantage in the 66th minute, once again benefiting from a brilliant play by Baturina.

Refusing to back down, Monaco fought back fiercely. In the 76th minute, Mohammed Salisu rose above the Zagreb defense to head in a crucial goal, narrowing the deficit and reigniting hopes of a comeback for the French side.

As the match neared its conclusion, captain Dennis Zakaria kept his composure to convert a penalty, ensuring Monaco walked away with a vital point in a dramatic 2-2 draw.

Salisu's commanding presence in defense and significant contribution in attack made him one of the standout performers of the night, as he played the full 90 minutes in what proved to be an entertaining Champions League showdown.
