Over the years in Ghana's political history, there have been several instances where aspirants or candidates regret pumping money into elections because they did not meet their demands.

A leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and nephew of Nana Akufo-Add0, Gabby Asare Otchere Darko says having money does not automatically qualify an aspirant to become a parliamentarian.

Gabby made the comment after an aspirant from Ajumako Enyam Essiam constituency in the Central Region, Elisha Debrah Odoom took back his car gift from the party for losing the primaries.

Apparently, Mr. Odoom had brought 11 saloon cars to the voting grounds as a gift to the party, thinking he was going to win at all cost. But eventually, things overturned and he lost to an Environmental Sanitation and Waste Management Expert, Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful.

However, Gabby reacting to the sudden posture of Mr. Odoom on Facebook wrote: "If he loves the party that much then please let him show that manifestly by not returning the vehicles to Accra but to let the donation, if legitimately acquired, stay with the constituency!".
