Black Stars striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom says that the Black Stars have put behind them the 1-0 defeat against Morrocco on Monday and are aiming for a place in the finals of the tournament.

Ghana will play against Gabon On Friday at the Ahmadou Ahidjou Stadium in their second game of the 2021 African Cup of Nations tournament and anything other than a win will make qualification from the group very difficult.

Gabon will have the chance to field Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who missed their opening day win against Comoros due to COVID-19 but is now back.

The four time African champions lost their opening game against Morocco on Monday as a late goal from Soufiane Boufal condemned Ghana to defeat.

Speaking ahead of the match, the Beitar Jerusalem striker says that the team will beat Gaban as they aim to play in the finals of the tournament.

"Morale in camp is to get a win against Gabon, the agenda is to make sure we get to the final, the Morocco defeat is behind us now"

Ghana is seeking to end a 40 year wait for an African Cup of Nations trophy since last winning the tournament in Libya in 1982.

Bokaye Yiadom played in the defeat against Morocco after coming on as a second half substitute.
