A mother has been jailed for nine years after plotting to allow her seven-year-old daughter to be raped by a paedophile.

The woman agreed to let Stuart Bailey rape her daughter for a sum of around £200-£300, Cardiff Crown Court heard.

She had even bought sleeping pills, planning on giving them to her daughter before the attack, the International Business Times said.

The mother's partner first noticed texts between her and Bailey as they planned the attack, due to take place during the Whitsun school holidays.

She sent images of her daughter to Bailey, including naked photos in a bath. The woman pleaded guilty to five counts of distributing indecent images of a child.

She also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rape a girl aged under 13 and was sentenced to nine years in prison.

Her defence claimed she had been "bullied, cajoled and blackmailed" by Bailey, who has also been sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment having been convicted of four charges.

He was found to be having similar conversations with other women over dating website Plenty of Fish.

However both the mother and Bailey denied that they were going to go through with the plan.
