‘Muntari’s ‘ghost’ goal could have changed Italian football history’- Former AC Milan CEO
27th November 2018
Six years have passed since AC Milan-Juventus in 2012 when Sulley Muntari scored a goal that was not given by referee Tagliavento, despite the ball evidently crossing the line at the San Siro.
Juventus went on to win the Scudetto that season and every year since, but the former Milan CEO believes things could have been different if that goal had been allowed.
Former Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani spoke about the incident in an interview with SportMediaset.
"I saw Tagliavento at Monza-Ternana because he works at Ternana at the moment. We joked with him. Certainly, VAR is eliminating many mistakes. Maybe with Muntari's goal the history of Italian football would be changed, but now it is useless to talk about the past and it is necessary to look forward," Galliani said.
