Spokesperson of the National Chief Imam bemoaned the decay in our moral fibre as a country.

According to Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, the country needs to acknowledge the morality problem staring
at us in the face and deal with it.

Mr Aremeyaw who was speaking on the murder of the ten year old boy at Kasoa, attributes the boy's
murder to negligence of parents of the perpetrators, the country's education system and non-vigilance
on the part of religious bodies.

The obviously dumbfounded Sheikh said he is unable to clearly determine who is to blame for the
unfortunate incident, "because it comes from different dimensions, the failure of the family, the failure
of the religious communities, in order words we are religious, we are not righteous. Because all over
around us, you see religion but still children of this age can engage in this, there is something wrong."

Many are those blaming the media for allowing money doublers, fetish priests and soothsayers take over radio and television stations, the Chief Imam's Spokesperson said though he agrees the media has played a role in this situation, he believes other stakeholders are also to blame too.

"It is not the fault of the media alone, government is part of it, our educational system is part of it. We
must appreciate and acknowledge that our morality has sunk and do something about it."
