Former Black Stars skipper Stephen Appiah has said that he has no interest in politics or wish wish to become a President.

He said in an interview with SVTV following the election of the 1995 World best player and African best player George Oppong Weah into office as the President elect for Liberia.

The former Juventus player has said, “I have never even thought about it. I am happy with what I am doing today. George Weah is very lucky with what he went through, I am happy for him because he is a very good friend. We talk on phone most often and some of us we know what he went through, but its good not only for we the footballers, because if you read his story what happened to him five years ago, if he is someone who doesn’t have that positive attitude he will just give have in life.”

He further stated that the story of George Weah inspires him a lot as well as the rest of the people around.

“When you look at the story of George Weah, it has to motivate you. I don’t have to be a President in future and I don’t have to be a Politician. We admire what George Weah has done and it has motivated some of us,” he posited.

George Weah was elected in an election as the new president to take over from the out gone President Sirleaf Ellen Johnson as Liberia's leader after having made the attempt twice in previous elections and failing to secure the position.

The soccer maestro popularly known as Tonardo led the senior national team the Black Stsrs to its first appearance in the the World Cup in 2006.
