Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Myron Boadu netted his maiden goal for VfL Bochum during their 2-1 defeat to SC Freiburg at the Europa-Park Stadion on Sunday.
Boadu, currently on loan from AS Monaco, opened the scoring in the 35th minute, giving Bochum a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Despite Boadu's goal, Freiburg mounted a comeback in the second half. Forward Junior Adamu scored twice, ensuring a 2-1 victory for the home side.
Freiburg controlled much of the game, dominating possession and attempts on goal, while Bochum struggled to sustain their advantage.
Boadu, making his fourth Bundesliga appearance of the season, was substituted after 65 minutes. His performance offered a bright spot for Bochum, who are still searching for their first points after three matches.
VfL Bochum currently sits 17th on the Bundesliga table and will aim to turn their fortunes around when they face Holstein Kiel on September 21st.
