The Interior Minister together with the Defence Minister addressed the Parliament House on Tuesday May 22 to address the concerns of the lawmaking body on the chaos that has taken place in Tamale.

The two, Ambrosse Dery, Interior Minister and Dominic Nitiwul, the Defence Minister while addressing the House had stated that, after the clash between some members of the Police and Military, the North has been stuck with heavy security to ensure peace in the region.

The two further expressed their regrets over the incident that lead to the clash between the Police and Military which left some members of the police team injured.

Mr Dery addressing the House in the presence of the Speaker, Rt Hon. Mike Ocquaye said  “Currently full operational co-operation and collaboration have been restored in Tamale and the entire Northern Region and the general public is reassured that there is full impetus towards their security and safety.”

The Minority Speaker Hon. Haruna Iddrisu had affirmed that, the Northern is under cal and peaceful atmosphere.

The two Institutions have indicated that, they will  implement existing guidelines regarding the handling of personnel on disciplinary issues and breaches of the law.
