Embattled Chief Executive Officer of gold dealership hub, Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah widely known as NAM1 will be arriving in Ghana today July 11, 2019 via Emirates Airlines, his lawyer Kwame Akufo has confirmed.

Mr. Appiah Mensah is expected to be in Accra by 11:00 am after months of legal battle in the United Arab Emirates where he had gone in pursuit of his company’s funds in December 2018.

Lawyer Kwame Akuffo who confirmed Nana Appiah Mensah’s arrival in an interview with Graphic said he was unable to discuss the circumstances of his arrival.

Police CID sources have also confirmed security operatives would be accompanying him to take him to court to secure his custody pending investigations into alleged offences.

Mr. Akuffo said he was not aware of any such arrangements.

Last week, the Supreme Court in Dubai ruled that a gold trading company in the country, Horizon Royal Diamonds must refund $39m to the Ghanaian businessman within three weeks plus compensation for wrongful incarceration.

The order followed an unsuccessful appeal by Horizon against an earlier ruling of the high court to pay NAM1 his due for the supply of gold.

Thousands of customers of Menzgold whose investments have been locked up with the company following the revocation of its operations have been waiting with bated breath for Horizon to make good its liabilities to enable them receive their funds.

An Interpol red alert has been on NAM1’s head for several months since his detention in Dubai.
