Nana Yaw Amponsah, a presidential aspirant in the upcoming Ghana Football Association elections has outlined his plans for women's football.

The women’s game in Ghana has lacked a lot of support for many years despite the remarkable achievements of the female national teams in the history of Ghana football.

The Black Queens were the first senior national team from Ghana to make an appearance on the global stage when they qualified to the FIFA Women's World Cup in 1999.

Ghana's Under 17 women's team, the Black Maidens also picked up bronze in the Women’s U17 World Cup in Azerbaijan in 2012.

But despite these major strides made by the female teams, women's football have not received much investment which has hindered it's development in recent years.

Revealing his grand plan for women's football development in a social media post on Tuesday, Nana Yaw Amponsah wrote, "Women's football will only grow if we consider as important as men's football"

"It is important men's football carries women's football on its back towards development", he added before outlining five steps his administration will do to develop the game.

Meanwhile, Nana Amponsah has to beat off competition from Amanda Clinton, George Afriyie, George Ankomah Mensah, Fred Pappoe, and Kurt Okraku in the October 25 GFA election in Accra in order to bring this vision to fruition.
