Former Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) says it would be a shame on the part of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a party to pilot offer tablets to students as a means of enhancing education when the issue of text books in the basic schools is nothing to write home about.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Wednesday, Mr. Michael Nsowah stated that there are over 7 million students in the basic education sector, adding that some of these schools lack IT infrastructure which will render the tablets not useful.

According the former GES Director, the NDC government could not provide text books for these same students they want to distribute tablets to. He added that kids in the Kindergartens are suffering the most with about five students using one text book.

“I don’t understand why the NDC wants Ghanaians to believe they can give each student a tablet when they cannot provide the same students with text books,” he added.
