A pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) vigilante group, The Hawks, has disrupted the ongoing Ashanti Regional executives elections of the umbrella family and in the process, brought the entire exercise to a standstill.

The polls in the Ashanti Region which is considered by the hierarchy of party as the most crucial one which outcome will have negative or positive impact on the chances of the Akatamansonians in the 2020 general elections is taking place at the Tweneboah Kodua SHS in Sekyere Kumawu.

The Hawks, it is believed, went to the venue where the polls are being conducted under the alleged instructions of Joseph Yamin, a former deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, who is also contesting for the chairmanship position of the party in the region.

Yamin, according to sources familiar with the situation, was being shortchanged, hence his alleged directive.
