The National Vice Chairperson of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Anita Desooso has disclosed that the next NDC executive organogram will have an office dedicated to various splinter groups in the party for better management.

In an exclusive interview on Onua Fm morning show ‘Yen Nsem Pa’ with Bright Kwesi Asempa, the National Vice Chairperson said the decision becomes necessary as a result of some challenges the party was faced with during the 2016 general elections.

“We are listening to our members across the country and the next NDC structure will have office dedicated to various groups in the party, this will help us not only recognize them but also streamline their activities and work. In the last elections, although we have them placed under the Organizer’s office but we think it did not work as we were expecting. They will be on their own”

The former Women Organizer of the NDC also revealed that the office for the splinter groups will be allocated budget so that they can also have a smooth operations. She said if the groups are independent, “that office will deal with all their challenges so that a report will be forwarded to the Organizer, the General Secretary or the Chairman for action”

It would be recalled that the NDC in the last year election had witnessed increase in splinter groups. Some with sole allegiance to the party as an entity while some to the Flag Bearer as well as his running mate Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur et al. At a point during last year’s electioneering campaign, these groups were outdoing each other in a bit to impress the party leading to some tension and accusations.

These groups were partly blamed for the lost of the NDC in the presidential elections.

It is against this that Anita Desooso said the proposed creation of separate office for the groups to manage their activities is in order.
“I am certain that these groups will even do a lot more if we give them an office where they can go for logistic and other materials. NDC will be back, Ghanaians have already missed us”
