The CEO of Berekum Chelsea, Ralph Gyambrah has said clubs are struggling to secure sponsorship due to the negative reportage about Ghana football.

Berekum Chelsea is among the three Premier League clubs that have been put on sale due to financial crisis.

The former Premier League champions have struggled financially following the departure of chief financier Emmanuel Kyeremeh.

But Gyambrah insists football industry players are responsible for the difficulty encountered by club owners to secure sponsorships.

“You approach a lot of sponsors and they will tell you, we don’t have enough budget, there are so many allegations that have been leveled against football people, and the brand is gradually being tainted,” he told Starr Sports.

“And you ask yourself is it the direction we want to go. All the football industry players must come on board and ensure that we do the right thing and try and rebrand the sports.”
