He said, “That was the reason why when it rains, because Koforidua falls underhill, as soon as it rains it floods the entire municipality but since we started tackling the Nsukwaw basin, this has completely stopped and nobody has complained of their houses being flooded.”

He revealed, “in the next one month, we are going to start the redevelopment of Jackson Park which is going to be turned to modern Park with ancillary facilities.”

Mr. Apaw Gyasi hinted out that the Assembly is in its final stages in consultation with the local government to revamp the Koforidua Central Market.

“Plana are far advance to rebuild Koforidua Central Market and as I speak the consultant has come to the site and we are at the final stages in consultation with the ministry of local government and the ministry of finance. We have been working on this for the past two years and there is an indication that the project will come through’’.

The MCE narrated that, the “Mangoase District Court” will be revamped to a new Multi-purpose storey Court complex that has already taken a facelift.

He says “we have also started the new Abatua where animals will be slotted to be brought to our market, the project is ongoing.”

Speaking on accommodation for staff that has turned to be a challenge for the assembly, the MCE emphasized that a 6 unit 2 bedroom self-contained is being put up to accommodate the employees of the assembly.

“We have started a 6 unit 2 bedroom block for our staffs. This is as a result of the challenges we have had with our neighbors. Since the new demarcation came, all our government Bungalows have been given to our neighbors.”
