The Black Satellites of Ghana departed for Niger on Thursday 5th May, 2022 ahead of the start  of  the WAFU Zone B U-20 Cup of Nations.

Ghana's group opponents Nigeria have been playing some preparatory matches with the host nation Niger.

The Flying Eagles played two friendly games with Niger as they sharpen their arsenals for the Ghana game which will be the  opener on the 8th May,2022.

The first game ended in a goalless draw before Nigeria narrowly beat the host nation 1-0 in the friendly match.

Ghana  will come up against a formidable Nigeria side as they bid to make it back to back triumph at this level after winning the last one edition in Benin.

Nigeria and Ghana are both in group B  with Burkina Faso, the third team in the group.

Meanwhile, Niger play in Group A alongside Cote D’Ivoire, Benin Republic and Togo.

Two two finalists will automatically qualify for the 2023 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
