The editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, has endorsed the construction of the newly inaugurated Kwame Nkrumah Interchange.

According to Mr Baako, an ardent critic of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), the project is good for the nation.

“If you took a look at the parliamentary Hansard from August 16, 2012 when the Finance Committee presented its report on this particular project, I think the motion for the distribution of the approval of the resolution was moved by the chairman of the Finance Committee and it was seconded by Mr Samuel Obodai of the NPP and if you read the Hansard, there was a bipartisan spirit behind it. There was some consensus with everybody agreeing that it was a good project and the reasons that were given in the Hansard as to why that project was necessary and desirable are there and are clear and I fully endorse them then and now. So, I think it is good for the nation. We shouldn’t be unduly worried about all this propaganda. The basic thing is that there is an infrastructure out there,” he said on Newsfile on Joy FM.

The €74million flyover was opened to traffic and inaugurated by President John Mahama on Monday 14 November.

The project has been described by supporters of the NDC as the government’s trump card ahead of the December 7 general elections.
