Ghana are not falling over themselves to get a replacement for the departed Avram Grant, according to officials.

The nation's football technical directorate is headed by Francis Oti Akenteng, who says care will be taken to get the right man for the job - and there is no need to rush to do that.

Akenten notes that whoever gets the job will be continuing from where Grant left. “Before we will name a coach we have to do an evaluation of Avram Grant’s work and that will be the tournament inclusive, after the evaluation then we will know what to do next,” he told Joy Sports.

“After the evaluation of Grant’s work we will then look at the kind of coach to go in for, is it a development coach? We have to take our time in doing this because we need somebody who will be very suitable for the work.”

Avram Grant resigned from the job after two years, following his inability to win Ghana's first trophy since 1982.
