Following concerns from the parties and the public over delay by the Electoral Commission to declare the results, the commission have come out to debunk the claims that it is deliberately withholding the results .

In a statement released by the EC, they assured Ghanaians that the commission is working tirelessly to ensure that accurate and true reflection of the votes are presented to the Ghanaian public and the world.

They added that the several verification process needs to be followed before the results are certified hence the delay in announcing the results.

The statement further called for patience and calm from all voters as the EC ensures that all elections results are a true reflection of the will of voters.

Meanwhile the National Peace Council minutes before the EC's press conference also charged the commission to expedite actions in declaring the results.

President of the national Peace Council Rev. Emmanuel Asante also in a press conference accused the EC of being slow and delaying in announcing the results.
