The women’s wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to hold a National Womens Conference ahead of the 2020 general election.

The event on the theme: ‘Mobilising Women for victory 2020 and Beyond’ aims at mobilising, equipping and unifying women for victory 2020 and beyond in the region.

National Womens Organiser of the NPP, Kate Gyamfua revealed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Tuesday.

She noted that the conference, to be held at Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western region, will start from Friday, November 29, 2019.

The NPP Womens leader said the conference will be a platform for the women’s wing of the NPP to take stock of their activities and to strategise for victory in the 2020 general election.

She underscored the need for NPP women, especially at the grassroots to work hard to ensure the Akufo-Addo government retains power to continue its pro-poor policies which are helping the vulnerable in society.

“President Akufo-Addo has helped a lot of women take their children to school so we need to work hard to ensure he wins the 2020 elections,” she said.

She said the women’s wing cannot afford to let the NPP lose the 2020 elections due to the great impact President Nana Akufo-Addo has had on women and children in Ghana.

“I have been to many towns across the country and the free senior high school programme has really impacted lives,” she said.
