President John Mahama says  the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has a hidden intention to dispute the results of this year’s election, knowing very well that the National Democratic Congress  will win the election fair and square.

The flag bearer of the ruling party believes the  NPP's continuous attack on the Electoral Commission  is a calculated  plan to undermine the credibility of the election knowing very well the NDC is going bto win the election on fair grounds.

Speaking at a mini  rally at  Mamobi kawokudi park, Accra, on Sunday, the President said the NPP anticipates its defeat in the upcoming polls hence is seeking to discredit the Commission ahead of the polls.

"When there is a  competition, the one who knows he is going to lose tries to create trouble so that competition will not come on.we know we are going to win and so we want peace to reign we  want transparency and we want fairness. If elections are  free and fair in this country on  any occasion, NDC will win."he said.

"Our opponents are creating to dispute this election. So if you'v  noticed, there is a consistent pattern of trying to undermine the credibility  of the EC .Everyday in the pro NPP news papers,  the EC chair is under attack and  the commission is under attack.

"It is a deliberate carefully planned move so that when the NDC had won they will create the basis to say they don't accept the result.

There president however challenged the party supporters to make sure they vote in their numbers to give the NDC a resounding victory, as he knows the  NDC has the "silent majority".He said the party must ensure they widened the gap to deny the NPP of any hope of going to the supreme court as it has planned.

"We are going to win clean and this time the gap must be wide so that nobody is tempted to go to the supreme court. We want 54,, 55,  56 percent, "President Mahama said.

"And we can make it if all of us turn out to vote because the NDC is the silent majority we don't make a lot of noise. if u see an NDC member and you even ask which party is going to vote for, he says his vote is a secrete."

"The NPP talks a lot so when they hear their own noise they think they are winning but when they vote is conted and we have beaten them they dispute it."

Sunday's mini rally at the kawokudi park  was preceded by a health walk, which saw  the president and other party stalwarts taking part. The president used the opportunity to introduce some of the parliamentary candidates who made it to the rally grounds.

The President called on Ghanaian to continue with the health walk even after the election to ensure people remain healthy to ensure good and healthy  life.
