Two persons have sustained cutlass wounds at Tinangeria in the Wulensi constituency of the Northern region in a clash between some supporters of the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party.

It is unclear what triggered the violence but an eyewitness Umar Abubakari told Starr News that the incident happened Thursday evening while the NPP was having a rally.

"The village is closer to the hometown of the NDC parliamentary candidate so while the NPP was having the rally, all of a sudden they (NDC) organized themselves and came and attacked them"

According to Umar, the NPP supporters were allegedly attacked with cutlasses and stones which resulted in the injuries

With only few days away from the crucial December 7 polls, there have an upsurge of violence in the constituency for reasons the police is yet to make public.

This is the third time within a spate of two weeks that supporters of the two parties have clashed.
